The analysis of the dynamics of genealogical structure and results of bulls and lines using in the Polissya zone has been conducted. Selective and genetic aspects of perfecting Ukrainian black-and-white dairy cattle in an open breed population with the use of conception of desired type has been worked out. The impact the introduction of German Black-and-White breed has been determined of the Polissya region. The recommendation of using animal suit in selection and pedigree work with Black-and-White dairy breeds has been processed. The Ukrainian Black-and-White and Red-and-White dairy breeds were tested under similar raising, feeding and housing conditions. The efficiency of using inbreeding and outbreeding, homogeneous and heterogeneous selection has been studied for creating high production herds of Ukrainian Black-and-White dairy breed. The effectiveness of first-calf cows selection according to their industrial type and constitutional and exterior features has been proved. The linear classification of exterior type of first-calf cows of both dairy breeds has been conducted. The performance of linear appreciation on milk yielding was proved.
