In laboratory tests, approaches and methods for determining ratios of such key parameters of magnetic-pulse impacts as the natural frequency and the discharge current amplitude, the pulse frequency, the geometrical parameters of the "Inductor-Melt" system that determine the intensity of impact on the melt in the axial magnetic-pulse treatment are developed and tested. The use of these methods allowed for magnetic-pulse treatment of molten silumin AK5M2 in the furnace and outside the furnace in an intermediate container to achieve grinding of structural components more than 2.5 times. When treating in the mould of variable cross-sections, not only grinding of the alloy structure was achieved, but also its uniform structure along the height of the casting regardless of its thickness was obtained. The selected search algorithm allowed for developing technical requirements for high-voltage current source, minimizing stored energy and consumed power significantly in comparison with the known analogues.
