Laser processing parameters were established and their influence on surface characteristics (surface roughness, dimensions of heat-affected zone, dimensions of separate crater etc.) was analyzed. It is possible to harden the surface of metal parts and to clean it from surface contamination (doing ono harm to the environment) using the develop technology. Technological process of surface texturing according to pre-defined pattern and equipment for its implementation were designed and verified experimentally. Optimal laser processing parameters, such as laser beam travel speed, laser power density, pulse frequency, defocusing and overlap coefficient, were determined.
