Samples of aluminum activated with such metals-activators as bismuth and antimony have been obtained. The kinetics of interaction between the three-component alloys Zn-Sb-Bi and water with hydrogen evolution in the temperature range 250-325 °С have been established by the volumetric method at high pressures. The rates of hydrogen evolution on interaction between these alloys and water have been determined to be 1323-2200 L H2/min, respectively, at 325 °C. Using X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the products of the reaction of water with activated zinc alloys are zinc oxide ZnO, antimony oxide Sb2O3, and metal bismuth activator, that is isolated as a metallic phase in the microcrystalline state.
