Subject of research: mechanisms of formation of composite coatings using combined methods with application of controlled plasma and diffusion flows. Technological characteristics of formation of multicomponent materials based on refractory metals and functional coatings based on these metals were studied. In this research, magnetron sputtering, vacuum-arc deposition and high-temperature annealing were used to form composite coatings. The impact of physico-technological parameters of the deposition process, particularly of the displacement potential and nitrogen partial pressure, on the structural phase state of the condensate was defined. Physico-technological principles of creation of new functional coatings were proposed. The obtained results conform to the international level of research in this area. The advantage over other analogues is that structural phase transformation mechanisms, which occur in control of plasma and diffusion flows through variation of physico-technological parameters, were defined.
