Research methods: collection of weekend of data, model inspections and monitoring of sights, analysis of the archived and cartographic sources, special literature, application of factual analysis of material for systematization of the got results.esearch results: Work contains an analyst report about the state of stored of the earthen strengthening of the Ukrainian line of located on territories of zachepilovsky district of the Kharkiv area, and also infobase of data in relation to present (worked out, adjusted) historical town-planning documentation on the historical inhabited cities of Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Dnepropetrovsk, Tcherkasy, Sumy, Poltava, Kharkiv areas. Expected, that the results of scientific development will allow to work out the system of making decision for the orders of making of documentation taking into account the necessities of development of general layouts and value of historical-cultural heritage of the historical inhabited places and range of problems of her maintenance. Creation of the annotated list of fortification building of the Ukrainian line with their mapping and research of general conception of their placing and functioning will allow to work out recommendations in relation to further research works and principles of maintenance.
