Experimental protocols of salt and osmotic stress induction in hydroponic condition were optimized. It was established that exposure to salt and osmotic stress is a critical stage in seed germination of barley. Using fluorescent microscopy, stress-induced autophagy development was investigated and proposed experimental scheme was recognized as appropriate for investigation of salt and osmotic stress impact on the development of autophagy in epithelial and parenchymatous cells of the roots of barley.
