Komisarenko Institute of Endocrynology and Metabolism of the National Academy of Medical Science of Ukraine" popup.description2 Object: thyroid cancer (TC) incidence, invasive properties (IP) of TC. Aim: to evaluate the dynamic of the TC incidence and IP of papillary thyroid carcinomas (PTCs) with increasing the time elapsed after the Chornobyl accident. Methods: statistical, morphological, immunohistochemical. Theoretical and practical results: TC incidence in groups of high risk (children and adolescents at the time of Chernobyl accident), total in Ukraine, like as in the most contaminated Northern regions, demonstrated a growing trend during a period from 1990 to 2014. Growing trend was also detected in less contaminated regions, and can testify to gradual reduction to influence of radiation factor. A pathological analysis showed, that in 2012-2014 among patients, who was born before Chernobyl accident, are increasing the percentage of both encapsulated PTCs with low IP, micro PTCs (pTa) and PTCs with signs of multiple growths (pTm). Was shown that the intraoperative express-histological examinations (EHE) are useful only at the FNA conclusion "suspicions for malignant". The results revealed are basis for the further monitoring of the TC incidence, and comparison of radiogenic and sporadic TC. Efficiency and realization: standartization of procedure of EHE. Advantage above analogues: comparative multivariate analysis of post-Chernobyl radiogenic and sporadic PTCS in age-matched groups not conducted. Industry of the use: endocrinology, radiation medicine.
