The aim of the work: development of cryoprotective media containing combinations of cryoprotectants, representing chemical series of polyols, amides and their oxyethyl derivatives, studying of cryoprotective properties and cryoprotective action mechanisms during cell suspensions cryopreservation (blood cells, bird and animal spermatozoa, plant cells); substantiation of a new approach to creation of cryopreservatives on the base of using of different combinations of cryoprotective substances. Research methods: generally accepted methods of estimation of the cells morpho-functional adequacy, light microscopy methods, osmometry, spectrofluorimetry, spectrophotometry, refractometry, helipot, flaming photometry, viscosimetry and other methods. Research results: New cryoprotective media, containing combinations of cryoprotectants, representing chemical series of polyols, amides, polyol oxyethyl derivatives are developed, their physical-chemical and antiradical properties and cytotoxicity are studied, their cryoprotective activity level during freezing of blood cells (erythrocytes, thrombocytes), bird spermatozoa, garlic and grape meristems is determined. Novelty, efficiency of introduction into practice: On the base of undertaken studies some mechanisms of cryoprotective action of combined media are elucidated, perspective and expediency of using the cryoprotectant combinations for creation of effective cryopreservatives of new generation is substantiated. The practical value consists in possibility of using the obtained results in development of methods of cryopreservation for different biological objects - blood cells, spermatozoa, plant cells and others. The valuable achievement of the practical part is development of new methods for blood cells (human thrombocytes) and plant meristems cryopreservation.
