To solve this problem the complex work was conducted, in particular: - teachers of the Department of Health and Safety simulated contamination of the atmosphere and surface areas in the regions of oil and oil products processing and storage; the causes and conditions of failure of the main oil and gas pipelines were analyzed; the problems of labor protection organization at the enterprises of oil and gas industry were studied; - teachers of the Department of Geotechnogenic Safety and Geomatics conducted the research works on GIS application in identifying areas of mining; performed the analysis of processes activating and development of dangerous exogenous geological processes; conducted forecasting of karst, landslides, mudslides; performed modeling of groundwater levels; - teachers of the Department of Engineering Geodesy performed theoretical and experimental research on improving the scientific bases and working methods: 1) the assessment of the impact of the underground workings of potash salts at the surface of the Kola deposit; 2) the use of space images for inventory procedures of main pipelines; 3) the use of electronic tachymetry during maintenance of oil land storage tanks with capacity of 75,000 m2. The method of pre-construction survey of polar cranes tracks RO AS was patented; - teachers of the Department of Land Use Planning and Cadastral Register developed the research methods of relief impact on erosion processes; developed the concept of State geodetic network posts' state monitoring; created the ecological and economic model of sustainable land use management; conducted works on investigating the accuracy of the construction of the planned networks in the inventory processes of disturbed lands; performed the study of recent vertical movements of the earth's crust; - teachers of the Department of Chemistry developed the basic scheme of thin-layer mud collector improved structure; investigated the application of polymer materials (PET bottle waste) to improve the mechanical properties of the cement slurry; conducted research aimed at increasing the service time of oil and gas pipelines. - teachers of the Department of Ecology assessed the impact of oil and gas industry on balanced resource management; analyzed the recreational-tourism potential of the western region.
