During the report period relevant information regarding the global market of gemstones of the second-fourth grade was systematized, economic and geological information regarding genetic classification and location of the main deposits of precious stones was generalized. The complex physical and chemical studies of natural, synthetic and treated jadeite, colored sapphire, precious opal, spinel, beryl, garnet, quartz, pyroxene were conducted, definitive traits of their IR-spectres discovered, diagnostic impurities, gemological characteristics and criteria of their instrumental diagnosis were determined. The results of the study are added to the reference databases of precious stones of SGCU. The results of the work will be applied in scientific and gemological examination.
