The most promising findings on large concentration of rare earth mineralization is related with Azov megablock. On this territory are known several types of magmatic complexes with rare earth mineralization: carbonatites, gabbro-syenitic with nepheline or alkalifeldshpar syenites. The feature of Azov's rocks is the presence together with well-known of REE minerals and Y (bastn?site, monazite, xenotime, apatite), that are representing commercial interest, also atypical (non-traditional) REE minerals concentrators and Y - brytholite and allanite. Apart from known deposits and occurrences of rare earth elements in this area, great potential of discovery of new occurrences are related to non-traditional types of mineralization (Anadolske ore) and alkaline metasomatites that are related with fenitization of host-rocks during the formation of carbonatitic and alkaline ultrabasic intrusions. It have revealed new areas of fenites with high rare earth elements content (1-1.5%). The carbon isotopic composition of these alkaline metasomatites indicates on their mantle source. At the same time isotopic characteristic of Sr indicates on contamination crust material. Minerals of rare earth are analyzed in detail. It have identified and analyzed series of new for Azov and Ukraine minerals. This investigation are enable to outline petrographic and mineralogical criteria which can be use during highlighted the most promising areas of rare earth mineralization localization of the Azov mehablock of Ukrainian shield.
