The paper discusses the main criteria geotectonic binding recorded seismic events and the effectiveness of their use in the platform part of the territory of Ukraine. The main principle of the application of these criteria - a method of analogies. On this basis in the regions compared, which were previously recorded earthquake regions, where in the future they may occur. The basis for this are the results of observations in the comparable regions. Dedicated criteria developed through analysis of data on seismicity, tectonics, geophysical field and deep crustal structure of the Ukrainian shield and adjacent structures.
