It has been found that currently the gene pool of endangered population of cattle: Ukrainian Grey, Ukrainian Whitehead, Carpathian Brown and Lebedyn; pigs: Mirgorod, Ukrainian Steppe White, Ukrainian Steppe Black-and-White; Hutsul breed of horses; sheep: Sokilska, Ukrainian Carpathian; ducks: Ukrainian Black White-Breasted, Ukrainian Clay and Ukrainian Grey; Romenska breed of geese; Ukrainian Vushanka, Poltava Clay breeds of chickens and paddlefish required urgent measures to preserve. It has been determined current risk status (category) for the local and endangered breeds of farm animals. Three options (minimum, optimum, maximum) of quantitative parameters of effective population size were calculated to maintain genetic diversity of livestock breeds by in vivo method in the gene pool object. In accordance with the ICAR recommendations requirements have been formed and description of the registration of credentials indicators of origin, productivity, reproduction and other economically valuable traits for cattle of dairy and beef breeds has been carried out and maintenance of directory of automated information system.
