Objective: to create a national bibliography of Ukrainian periodicals of 19th-20th cc., bibliography of Galician foreign language periodicals, stored in Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv, formation of databases of bio-bibliographical in formation in prominent Galician magazines of specified period, as well as database on Ukrainian journalists, editors, publishers and other people acting in the field of media publishing. The obtained results. Four card indexes that are the main platform for databases: "Ukrainian periodicals of 1923-1924 in Ukraine and the world", "Foreign language newspapers published in Galicia during second half of 19th - the first third of the 20th c. stored in Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv", "Ukrainian journalism in persons", "Bio- and bibliographical information in prominent Ukrainian newspapers of 19th - the first third of 20th c." were enlarged. 576 Ukrainian periodicals were examined de visu, 349 historical and bibliographic essays were written to historical and bibliographical survey "Ukrainian press in Ukraine and abroad in 19-20th c."; 62 magazines were described under the asterisk (*). The first part (Ukrainian-language newspapers) of historical and bibliographical survey "Ukrainian press in Ukraine and abroad 19th -20th c." (1918) was supplemented with new information; the second part (foreign-language newspapers, working version) historical-bibliographical survey "Ukrainian press in Ukraine and abroad XIX-XX centuries" (1918) was arranged. The first volume of "Bio- and bibliographical information in the Dilo newspaper", which contains the results of a research study on newspaper, 1880-1889 was published.
