The laboratory setting with a triple modules vacuum chamber for deposition of hardening of vacuum-arc coatings on turbine blades of length up to 1300 mm and weight up to 30 kg was developed, installed and established. Perspective views of hardening coatings were selected. Coatings, based on titanium nitride: nanostructured, multicomponent, complex alloyed coating and multilayered coating with layers obtained by ion nitriding were considered. Tests of titanium alloy VT-6 samples with the preferred coatings for definition firmness to cavitation and abrasion wear were conducted. The selection on the basis of test results and analysis of the literature was made and the composition and conditions of synthesis of optimal coatings for hardening blades was justified. The laboratory process of deposition of hardening coatings on titanium alloy VT-6 was created. The coatings on experimental samples were deposited and tested in simulation conditions close to operational. The coating on experimental samples of blade models of titanium alloy VT-6 was deposited.
