Method of research - experimental, methods of theoretical mechanics and space flight mechanics, ionized plasma physics, mathematical modeling, numerical solution of ordinary differential equations and computer visualization. Obtained results. Direction 1: The possibility and effectiveness of the dynamic interaction control by means of own magnetic field rotation around the velocity vector of the hypersonic flow of the rarefied plasma have been scientifically proved; features of interaction "spacecraft - plasma" were studied under conditions of spacecraft moving in the Earth's ionosphere at altitudes from 800 to 1000 km and in the interplanetary space; the structure of the perturbation zone near the "magnetized" body has been investigated experimentally, dependences of "magnetic" constituents of the drag and lift force coefficients of "magnetized" sphere in the hypersonic flow of rarefied plasma vs. the angle between the velocity vector and the induction vector of the body’s magnetic field within the wide range of the body’s magnetic field pressure and gasdynamic plasma flow pressure. Direction 2: revised and developed mathematical and computer models of the dynamics of electrodynamic space tethered systems and studies of nonlinear dynamics and peculiarities of interaction with the external environment of the electrodynamic space tethered systems, including: the calculation of the lifetime of space tethered systems in low earth orbit under the influence of space debris; investigation of nonlinear oscillations of a tethered system about its center of mass under the action of the aerodynamic moment and nonlinear oscillations under the action of a torque of ampere's forces; research of dynamics of space tethered systems considering thermal effects. Scope of application - direction 1: Mechanics of fluid, gas and plasma. Scientific researches in this field are relevant for space-developed countries. The results can be used in the preparation of onboard scientific experiments as well as the development of future space crafts with magneto hydrodynamic (MHD) motion control systems; direction 2: space exploration, space systems dynamics. The results can be used to study the laws of nonlinear motion of electrodynamic space tethered system and to choice of parameters for the experimental system.
