Keywords: sport for all, fitness, recreation, regularities, functioning, development. Aim of the study: theoretical and experimental research of the problems, trends, peculiarities, and principles of functioning and development of sport for all, fitness and recreation. The goal of the stage of the study: identification of the trends, peculiarities and regularities of the formation, functioning and development of sport for all, fitness and recreation in modern social economic conditions in Ukraine. Object of the study: the modern system of sports for all, fitness and recreation. Subject of research: scientific foundations of the system of sports for all, fitness and recreation. Research methods: the theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific publications and documentary materials; historical methods (comparative-historical, comparative-typological methods); method of system analysis; method comparison and matching; method of structural-functional analysis; sociological methods (interviews, surveys); pedagogical, anthropometric, and physiological methods; and methods of mathematical statistics. Results of the study: the methodological approaches to the unification of the content of the conceptual and categorical framework in the field of sport for all, fitness and recreation are presented; the theoretical and technological foundations for sports for all, fitness and recreation were determined; the foreign and national experience in training professionals in fitness and recreation was analyzed, and theoretical-methodological basis for the improvement of training professionals in specialization "Fitness and recreation" was substantiated; the trends, peculiarities and regularities of the formation, functioning and development of sport for all, fitness and recreation in modern social economic conditions in Ukraine were identified.
