It has been established that arginase I of human liver is an optimal enzyme for the developmenyt of a diagnostic test kit with fluorometric arginine detection. Kit was tested on clinical samples of blood serum of different groups of donors - healthy donors, patients with liver disease, and athletes who use arginine-containing pills. It was shown that in the group of healthy patients L-Arg concentrations constituted from 0.087 to 0,159 mM, in the group of patients suffering from liver diseases - concentration of L-Arg was in the range of 0,167 to 0,284 mM, in the group of athletes taking arginine-containing pills L-arginine concentration was the highest and was in the range of 0.385 to 0.440 mM. These data correlate well with the literature, and the proposed method can be recommended for the development of appropriate government standards determining the content of L-Arg and production of a commercial test kit.
