Kholodny Institute of Botany NASU popup.description2 The object of research - fossil pollen and spores, pollen of species from the family Orobanchaceae. The aim of study is reconstruction the basic principles of natural and anthropogenic changes of phytodiversity in Ukraine from the late Pleistocene to the present; predict its trends based on the results of complex palaeobotanic, palynomorphological and paleochorological data. Basic methods are spore-pollen analysis, light, scanning electron microscopy, mapping (program DIVA-GIS). As a result of new palynological studies of Pleistocene sediments of Late-Holocene, we detailed the major changes of vegetation of the plain part of Ukraine. The most representative studies of palinofloras were established. On the example of 30 model taxa (rare, relic, vulnerable and indicative species) and modeling time slices (optimal phase of the Riss-Wurm interglacial, the Last Glacial Maximum, the last climatic rhythm of the Late Glacial (AL, DR-3, AT-3 and SA-3 during the Holocene) the first paleochorological research were conducted. New palynological characteristics to deposits of the LGM (Last Glacial Maximum) of Volhyn-Podillya confirmed the impossibility of existence on the territory of the plains Ukraine primary glacial refugia for moisture-loving woody flora. The results of the palynomorphological research from the family Orobanchaceae (11 genera, 67 species, 120 specimens) and some representatives of synanthropic flora established diagnostic features of pollen grains for solving some problems of taxonomy and pollen analysis. The first part was considered on the history of the paleofloristic and paleochorological research of the Pleistocene-Holocene deposits in Ukraine during the 20th century and present time.
