Analytical, passive track radiometry method. 1345 measurements of equilibrium equivalent radon-222 concentration were made indoor in 763 units: public places (children educational institutions, public health institutions, buildings of executive authority, other buildings) and dwellings situated in radon prone area - Kirovohrad region. It is established that action level 50 Bq·m 3 exceeds in 2-12 times in more than 50 % of buildings of children educational institutions. After radon remediation measures in these institutions radon concentration was reduced from 2 to 16 times but action level is still exceeded in 56 % of buildings. Action level 100 Bq·m 3 is exceeded in more than 20 % rooms of public buildings, meanwhile in some buildings action level is exceeded in 2-4 times. More than 50 % explored dwellings do not satisfy the action level 100 Bq·m 3, in some cases action level is exceeded up to 7 times.
