Aim of research: To find the place of Shevchenko in world literature, including historical fnd cultural and social and historical contexts, studied the Bible and ancient allusions in the text, referring to the leading figures in English, German, French, Polish, Russian and other literatures; Heritage study to find out the status of Taras Shevchenko in the European and world literary criticism; systematize existing developments on the project; define the criteria for comparing the works of Taras Shevchenko and other famous writers of romantic; make a comparison of the works of Shevchenko and romantic writers of English, German, French, Polish, Russian and other literature, analyze the results, to clarify the essence of relations between them, identify patterns and differences of certain artistic phenomena, to speak in the pages of Western publications with related publications. Methods: comparative, historical, literary, hermeneutic, phenomenology, receptive aesthetic, cultural, historical, postcolonial criticism. In work: the role of ancient culture in shaping the worldview and aesthetic principles of Taras Shevchenko; antique images and motifs in painting the artist's heritage; antique allusions and literary inspiration in the poet; the transformation of the ancient image of Prometheus in his poem "The Caucasus" Taras Shevchenko; antique motifs poem "The Neophytes" by Taras Shevchenko; the evolution of the idea of God in a creative outlook of Taras Shevchenko; synthesis at national and psychological interpretations of biblical motifs; ethical and Christian principles in the form of Shevchenko person; Christian basis of Shevchenko spiritual state; biblical themes and subjects in the artistic legacy of Taras Shevchenko's 1847 -1861 .; existential and ethical motives in the works of Taras Shevchenko; Reception scientific creativity Shevchenko. Degree of implementation: case studies in the educational process Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, including the optional course "Taras Shevchenko and Kyiv University" (for students of all structural subdivisions), a special course "Taras Shevchenko and intellectual and literary and artistic context of European literature."
