Steel phases structure was studied in liquid and solid states considering structuring ion-molecular complexes and analysis of nanostructured elements of the basic components and non-metallic inclusions in molten iron. The new more informative polygonal ternary phases diagrams based on binary systems: FeO-SiO2-Al2O3, FeO-SiO2-CaO, CaO-SiO2-MgO, CaO-SiO2-Al2O3 were built. Structural type of ion-molecular complexes which determines the efficiency of refining of iron and steel by furnace and ladle slag was find out. A thermodynamic model of steel refining and its calculation computer program to assess the final concentration of oxygen and sulfur in the melt was developed. Optimal compositions of complex ferroalloys (Fe-Si-Al and Fe-Si-Ca) for deoxidation, desulfurization and microalloying of steel; melting blast furnaces and converter slag; refining ladle slag with increased to 1.5 times the adsorption capacity were determinated. Resourse and energy saving production technology of refinement and modification of converter steel was developed. The expected economic effect is 12-15 UAH / t of steel.
