Purpose of the research phase: on the basis of historical and theoretical analysis to determine the contribution of athletes - the NUUPES alumni in development of the modern Olympic sports for the period of 1952-2014. Object of the research: participation of the Ukrainian athletes in the Games of the Olympiads and Olympic Winter Games. Subject of the research: the effectiveness of participation of Ukrainian athletes - NUUPES alumni in the Games of the Olympiads and Olympic Winter Games since 1952 and up to today. Methods: analysis of the literature sources, data from Internet, archival materials; synthesis and generalization; methods of mathematical statistics. Results of the research: In the result of analyses of the literature and regulatory documents there is substantiated that, in the period 1952 - 2014 211 alumni of the NUUPES became champions and medal-holders of the Olympic Games: 79 of them have won 120 gold medals, 63 athletes - 84 silver medals, 79 - 97 bronze medals. At the Winter Olympics in the period 1972 - 2014 years. two alumni of the NUUPES won three gold medals (Ivan Byakov (2), Alexei Zhytnyk) and one silver (Batyuk Alexander). Description of scientific and technical products: for the first time in Ukraine there have been revealed all participants of the Olympic Games since 1952 up to 2014, that promotes the preservation of the historical heritage of the Olympic movement in Ukraine.
