Studies have revealed that the risk factors for the development of prolongation of pregnancy include: inflammatory diseases of the cervix, thyroid disease, obesity. Scientific novelty was that for the first time on the basis of these retrospective studies of pregnancy and childbirth in women that gave birth after 41 weeks of pregnancy, the risk will be determined on development and prolongation of pregnancy in modern conditions. Also for the first time in women of certain risk groups of pregnancy prolongation, in the light of the hormonal security, emotional state, the state of the connective tissue of mineral metabolism and condition of placenta is scientifically grounded development forecasting system, antenatal protection of the fetus and the health care measures to reducing the frequency of prolongation of pregnancy and the number of obstetric and perinatal complications in this group of women. Developed a set of diagnostic and preventive measures allowed to improve metabolism and liver function, vaginal pH to determine the content and the readiness of the cervix for childbirth and methods of correction; prevention of maternal and fetal injuries during childbirth; prevention of septic complications in women in the postpartum period; established rehabilitation program for women with prolonged pregnancy, which in addition to medical treatment used nonmedical means correcting the violations.
