A. V. YA. YURYEV NATIONAL ACADEMY OF AGRАRIAN SCIENCES OF UKRAINE popup.description2 Study Object - genetic diversity of winter and spring wheat, spring barley, peas, soybean, corn and sunflower by resistance to the most common in the North-Eastern Forest-Steppe of Ukraine pathogens and pests. The study purpose is to improve methods of formation of working and genetic collections of spiked cereals, legumes, corn and sunflower by the trait "resistance to major diseases and pests"; identification of sources and determination of their donor properties in terms of resistance for use in breeding programs. Study Methods - phytopathological, breeding, genetic statistical. The multi-year studies identified 165 accessions-standards of various manifestation of the trait "resistance to diseases and pests" in field crops. We received two patents and an invention certificate on the developed methods for determining winter wheat and spring barley resistance to root rot pathogens. A method for forming collections of field crops by resistance to biotic factors was developed. Resistance of 2,524 accessions to 24 species of harmful organisms was determined on artificial and provocative infection backgrounds. We identified 265 sources of individual resistance, 133 sources of group resistance and 81 source of complex resistance to diseases and pests of spiked cereals, pea, soybean, corn, and sunflower. Hybridological analysis identified 16 winter wheat donors of resistance to Septoria leaf blotch and head smut, one soft spring wheat donor of resistance to powdery mildew. 27 field crop line were registered in the NCPGRU: two wheat soft spring lines with group resistance to head smut and powdery mildew; seven soft winter wheat lines with group resistance to diseases and abiotic factors; three winter triticale lines resistant to loose smut and with a set of valuable economic characteristics; eight sunflower lines with group resistance to diseases and valuable economic traits; seven corn lines with group resistance to diseases and a number of valuable economic traits. Six collections were formed and registered in the NCPGRU: working collections - of soybean with individual resistance to Fusarium blight, of pea - for creation of varieties for different usage, of sunflower lines - with group resistance to Phomopsis and downy mildew, of soft winter wheat - with group resistance to leaf diseases, of corn lines - with group and complex resistance to diseases and pests; a trait collection of sunflower varieties by resistance to six pathogens Product Description popup.authors
