Goal - coordination, scientific and methodical management of the activities of institutions of the PGRU Network on development and operation of the National Bank of Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine; enrichment of the National Genebank with new sources of economic and biological traits; management of the Information System "Plant Genepool"; registration of gene pool collections and accessions in Ukraine; preservation of National Plant Genebank accessions in the viable state and genetic authenticity. Study Methods - organizational, introduction, informational, field, statistical, physiological. Theoretical Results. "Manual on the Organization and Maintenance of the System of Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine" and guidelines " Enrichment of the National Plant Genebank of Ukraine with New Plant Gene Pool Accessions" were prepared. Genotypic peculiarities of tolerance of rye, corn, solanaceous, oil crop gene pool accessions to seed storage were defined. Practical Results. Management of the National Plant Genebank of Ukraine containing 145,900 genepool accessions was ensured; 6,200 new samples were acquired; 14,700 packages with accessions were transferred to breeding, research, education and other programs. For the reporting period, the NCPGRU got 3,222 accessions from Ukraine and other countries. With this aim, two expeditions were organized, during which in total 330 accessions of 142 plant species were collected. 971 cereal accessions introduced from 16 were quarantine-tested and pre-studied. The initial field evaluation of winter cereal accessions identified 198 carriers of valuable economic traits. For use in breeding, research and training programs, 6,305 packages of accessions were delivered, including in 2015 - 2946. Maintenance and updating of the Information System (IS) "Plant Gene Pool" with the passport database comprising 99,800 passports on gene pool accessions belonging to 1,730 species, 493 crops were provided. 67 plant gene pool collections and 353 accessions were evaluated and registered. 66,500 seed samples of 718 plant species in the National Depository in the viable state and genetic authenticity are stored. Novelty: the work is performed for the first time in Ukraine. The effectiveness of implementation is determined by the economic efficiency of crop varieties and hybrids that are bred from the genebank accessionss; by performance of research in fundamental and applied science and education process using the gene pool accessions.
