Research Objective: identification of sources of grain high quality, thin-husked and leptodermal forms, creation of millet varieties with amylopectin starch. Research Methods: hybridization, chemical mutagenesis, variety trial, evaluations, selection, genetic and statistical analyses. The studies aimed at identification of sources of valuable features bases on results of a comprehensive assessment, crosses involving these sources, creation of starting material by mutation and combinative breeding, determination of breeding value of obtained millet hybrids and mutants in terms of the main economically valuable traits, investigation of their of adaptive and immunological properties. To perfect methods of creating new starting material with improved biochemical and technological parameters of grain, it is recommended to use the following parent components: varieties 'Tonkoplionchatoie 413', 'Tonkoplionchatoie 048', lines of the All Russia Research Institute of Legumes and Groat Crops LD 2236, L 1839-00. A possibility of generating thin-husked forms that combine high technological and biochemical parameters of quality and plant performance was proved. In 2014, six lines L 08-3737, L 12-4183, L 10-1692, L 10-1555, L 09-2067, L 10-1547 with increased yield capacity, high groat yields, low husk content (from 6% to 8%), low melanosis affection, high starch content, resistance to smut were transferred to the National Center for Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine. In 2015, variety 'Alternatyvne' with good biochemical parameters of quality (protein content 14%, carotenoid content 4.99 - 5.72 mg / kg, amylopectin starch) was submitted to the state variety trials according to the plan. The variety is suitable for fodder purpose, resistant to common in Ukraine smut races. In 2015, variety 'Osoblyve' was submitted to the state variety trials over and above the plan. It is a high-yielding mid-ripening variety with high values of biochemical parameters of quality (increased protein content 13.5%, carotenoid content 4.78 - 4.99 mg / kg). The groat yield is high (80.0 -82.3%); the variety is resistant to underglume damage of seed core. It is characterized by high content of amylopectin starch, therefore, has advantages in use for technical, food, medicinal purposes and in biofuel production. In 2015, the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine recommended six millet varieties bred by the PPI nd. a VYa Yuriev NAAS, which took about half of the total area under millet, for cultivation. The Expert Council of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service suggesting entering new millet varieties 'Sonechko Slobidske' (submitted to the state variety trials in 2012) and 'Nezalezhne' (submitted to the state variety trials in) in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2016. Variety 'Bogatyrske' is being testedls Product Description popup.authors Горлачова Ольга Вікентіївна popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
