Zozulia. - K., 2015. The object of study is scientific information activity of leading educationlibraries of Ukraine. The aim of study is the development of scientific methodological and technological aspects concerning modernization of scientific information activity of leading education libraries. Some research methods used insocial humanitiesand communication scienceswere taken into consideration in order to fulfil the tasks and achieve the aim of the study.The whole set of empirical and theoretical methods (analysis, synthesis, description, observation, modeling, abstraction, etc.) made it possible to generalize and ground the essence, principles, structure of scientific information activity of the library and to define forms, methods of access to documentary resources. During the preparatory stage of scientific research the scientists of V.O. SukhomlynskyiSSPL of Ukraine analysed source, historiographical base and characterized the terminology system on scientific research problem. Regulatory and legal basisconcerning the functioning of modern national information spacewas studied. Foreign and Ukrainian experience in scientific-information activity of educationlibraries was investigated. The peculiarities of users' information needs as a factor influencing the formation of the system of scientific-information support of education sphere were identified and analysed. The monitoring of the efficiency of scientific-information activityof V.O. SukhomlynskyiSSPL of Ukraine was carried out. It was proved that one of the innovative directions inthe development of modern libraries is actualization of the information-analytical activity and, consequently, formation of a new section of library workers - competent analysts who are able to analyse at an advanced level of ICT development and global accumulation of information content. The perspective directions in modernization of scientific-information activity of the system of leadingeducation libraries underthe Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraineare grounded. The ways concerning the transformation of the system of education libraries into basic documentary-communication complexes of the global information environmentare studied. Scientific-methodical principles concerning the activity of the system of education libraries underthe Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine were analysed. A set of bibliographic, abstract, review and analytical materials on actual problems in pedagogy and psychology of education was arrangedin order to modernize scientific-information activity of the system of education libraries. The development of Periodicalsdatabase and abstractElectronic Catalogueof V.O. SukhomlynskyiSSPL of Ukraine database was carried out through corporate relations with the system of education libraries of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.
