In the initial survey area - near the site of binding to an electric arc sprayed wire was used to register the melting process sprayed wire stripping and crushing drops of molten metal in the plasma flow. Because of the strong radiation from the plasma in this area temperature measurements were not carried out. Next, the platform with the camera lens and the spectrometer shifted along the jet coater providing overlapping regions of successive measurements of temperature and particle velocity. Thermal imaging system allowed to visualize processes of formation of melt metal drops disruption and further fragmentation, as well as to measure the velocity and temperature of the particles along the length of the jet sputtering.
