It was established that the change of furan- and terfeniazol- functional groups affects on rate of closing reaction of photochromic core. The nonlinear dependence of the reaction rate on the wavelength of its activation was discovered. Changing the wavelength from 266 nm to 340 nm reduces the time from 30% to 80% depending on the nature of the functional groups and photochromic core. Theoretical calculations indicate that with the change of functional group re-distribution of the electron density of photochromic core of the molecules occure with the corresponding change in the position and shape of the energy levels.
