Experimental model of silicate melt structure and mathematical analysis of the component activity have been suggested. The results of analytical studies concerning the structure of metallic melts have been overviewed. Thermodynamic characteristics such as activity coefficients, active concentrations, partial heats of mixing binary and ternary systems have been generalized. The effect of the metal impurities introduction on the parameters of both manganese and silicon reduction with carbon have been determined. Metallographic structure of industrial ferrosilicon manganese samples with different manganese content has been analyzed. The application of matching oxygen capacity has helped to theoretically analyze the reduction of manganese oxides with silicon. It has been proved that the most advantageous conditions for the reduction of manganese oxides with silicon depend on its high activity in the molten slag and final silicon content in the metal. The use of lined purging devices during refining processes instead of unlined metal tubes has been suggested and experimentally proved in the process of production.
