The purpose of the work is the development of selection-genetic methods of the consolidation and improvement of the Taurian Type Southern Meat breed in the direction of increasing productivity, improving the quality of beef. The research methods are: zootechnical, scientific-economic experiments, population genetics, zoochemical, physiological, monitoring, statistical methods for the operating system Microsoft Excel 2010, analytical, economical. The level of heat-resistance and adaptation of zebu-like cattle Taurian Type of Southern Meat breed to the environmental conditions of the steppe zone was investigated. This breed was approved in 2008. Were established the effect, directions and mechanisms of the consolidation of the genetic and phenotypic heredity on the formation of productive and reproductive qualities of the studied gene pool at the level of rationing cows, their genealogical and related status. The features of the formation of genealogy zebu-like herds under the conditions of consolidation have been determined. For the first time in Ukraine and Europe there were developed the breeding and genetic methods of consolidation and improvement the Taurian Type of Southern Meat breed, which differs polyheterozygous genetic structure, and due to this, has increased variability of the phenotype. They include: a multi-level monitoring of state of gene pool of the breed, an assessment of adaptation of animals on the deviation from the standard of the breed, and their heat-resistance, an identification of adapted microgroups according to the status of families, an assessment of the affinity and parameters of kin selection, the formation of genealogical groups in herds, and all these methods allow to conduct directed selection of the gene pool, which is characterized by increased level of the variability of features for the same type of herds with guaranteed high productivity and breeding value.
