The dominant mechanisms of energy transfer and losses of scintillation efficiency in the alkali halide scintillators were revealed. The basic matrices were selected and the test samples of a given composition and quality were synthesized. The spectral-kinetic characteristics of scintillators with varying activators as well as thermal and energy characteristics of the exciting quanta were determined.
