The problem is solved by introducing the hydrophilic sulphonate and phosphonate groups into the dye structures. A strategy and methods for the synthesis of the dyes are developed. The reactions used in these synthetic methods are investigated. The preparative methods of synthesis are developed and the aimed dyes and their conjugates with antibody are synthesized. The correlations of the photophysical and photochemical properties of the dyes and their conjugates with the molecular structures are studied. The aggregation of the dye molecules in aqueous media and in conjugates with antibodies is investigated. Increasing the number of sulfonate and phosphonate groups in the dye molecules reduces aggregation and increases the quantum yields, fluorescence lifetimes and photostability of the dyes and in particular their conjugates with antibodies. Increasing the number of sulfonate groups from 2 to 5 increases the quantum yield of the dye-antibody conjugates by factor of 3 and the photostability by factor of 2-3.
