These surfactants could be successfully stabilize colloids of inorganic nanoparticles in liquid crystals, as demonstrated on the model fluorescent nanoparticles, quantum dots, taken as an example. It is shown that the principles formulated for modification of quantum dots shell in order to stabilize their colloids in LC can be successfully transferred to other types of nanoparticles, particularly - magnetic. The basic idea is to use a combination of two surfactant types: with branched promezogenic moieties and aliphatic flexible diluents for providing a free space for the penetration of the LC molecules and adjusting shell nanoparticles a liquid crystal structure. Colloid of ferromagnetic spherical nanoparticles of cobalt ferrite (7-9 nm) nematichnogo E7 liquid crystal which is stable for at least 8 months was firstly prepared. For developed colloid (1% solution) showed a significant reduction in the magneto-optical threshold Freedericksz effect (up to 8 times) by forming long chains of nanoparticles in a magnetic field. Designed colloids can form the basis of the working environment in the optical device is controlled by a magnetic field for imaging of weak magnetic fields.
