The purpose of the work is carrying out the theoretical investigations of the interaction of plasmas and electron, ion beams with MPs and surfaces. Both MP charging in the plasma bulk and vacuum arc sheath have been investigated. The sheath model has been combined with the charging orbital motion limited theory in order to determine the interaction of the MP with the local potential and its subsequent effect on the dynamics of the MP. It was shown that MP traveling in the vacuum arc sheath acquires a charge which depends on the potential distribution, in contrast to MP charging in the quasineutral plasma.The particle charge fluctuations due to the discrete nature of charging process are considered. A Fokker-Planck description of the particle charging has been presented in beam-plasma systems. MP transport in the plasma duct is considered. It is shown that MP trapping occurs in the plasma duct due to radial electric field. The conditions for separation of plasma and MP are obtained. Alternative approaches of obtaining clean vacuum arc plasmas such as ion and electron bombardment of MP are proposed. The interaction of beams with MP leads to MP heating and evaporation.
