The physical mechanism for enhancement of melting ability of the arc with refractory cathode (TIG) was installed, which is the convective energy transfer in the weld pool downstream of the melt under the action of electromagnetic forces, ensuring a high electric current density at the anode. It was found that using different ways of activating contraction of the arc current on the surface of the anode is determined by various factors: the radial discharge current in anode plasma (TIG + CO2 laser), dynamic processes in arc discharge (high frequency modulation current), the decrease of the radius of the anode spot through the use of activating fluxes (A-TIG process).The rational ranges of the parameters of the modes, providing a significant increase in melting capacity of the arc when using the TIG welding. A comparative analysis of the melting ability of the arc as when a separate activation methods (RF modulation current, A-TIG welding, the use of different protective gases and their mixtures, of ultra-short arc welding) and their combinations. For practical use the following recommended ways synergistic activation of consumable electrode welding:-TIG + RF modulation current, A-TIG + arc ultra-short, A-TIG + RF modulation DC + ultra-short arc, which allows 2-3 times to increase the depth of penetration compared with conventional TIG process, ceteris paribus.
