Assessment and selection of sugar beets resulted from backcross having involved promising diploid multigerm line Я/Пер and donors of resistance to rhizomania AC48 and AC50 was performed. Research carried out in 2011-2015 allowed to select high-resistant hybrid combinations. In particular, in 2011 selected were breeding items 10-419-7, 10-413-1, 10-398 and others, in 2012 - 11-611-2, 11-611-4, 11-613-4 and others. In 2013, created were more than ten multugerm pollinators resistant to viral yellows. In 2014, 20 hybrid combinations were selected. Work on creating diploid and tetraploid start material of fodder beet resistant to rhizomania has been going on. The research yielded in two domestic varieties of fodder beet resistant to rhizomania, namely Burshtyn and Ryzon; the hybrids have been registered in the State Register of Varieties.
