Purpose of work - optimization and time reduction of heat and heat-deformation treatment modesof 40Х3Н5М3Ф steel, for improvement of mechanical-and-physical properties, and servicecharacteristics of stamp instrument. Research methods - X-ray phase analysis, and high-temperature X-ray phase, metallographic, and dilatometric analyses of experimental steel. For hot forming copper alloysdiesobtaining, stamp steelswith austenitic transformation control are used [1], which are more resistant at the operation temperatures higher than 700°C ,compared toferrite basis steels (3Х2B8Ф, 3Х3M3Ф, 4Х4ВMФС, 5Х3В3MФС etс.). Economical efficiency of molding in dies forming processes is determined in accordance with the tool durability. Depending on the type of deformed alloy, and heat temperature, the surface layers can change, frommoderate (400 - 600°С) toextreme temperatures. Whileoperatingtemperatureislowerthan 700°С, asatisfactorywearresistance, inmanycases, isprovidedbytheuseofcommonstampsteelson a-solidsolutionbasiswith carbide hardening; when the temperature is above 700°С, even the most heat resistant ferrite basis steels are rapid soften, this is the main reason, why do the work tool breaks down. Addition of alloying element Ni to the ferrite basis steel provides the reduction of А3point temperature.[2].With expansion of a- Fe modification area in the steel at the initial state, and with heating the steel to a-y transition temperature, an austenitic structure remains unchanged while the whole period of high-heat (to 950°С) operation of the stamp tool. The steel is characterized as stamp steel 40Х3Н5М3Фwith austenitic transformation control. This is the difference from traditional approach to ferrite basis heat resistant stamp steel alloying, for which the rise of phase transition temperature is one of the main conditions for the heat resistance increase.
