Aim - clarification of the ionizing radiation influence in different doses on spermatogenesis and rat male gonads hormone produced function for determination of the most radiosensitive biomarkers which characterized the state of generative epithelium at total and local irradiation of the rat . Methods - radiobiological, microscopic, spectrophotometric, morphologic, ELISA and statistical techniques. Dynamics of quantitative changes in colonization of seminiferous tubules of laboratory rats by both somatic Sertoli cells and different types of germ cells, in dependence from dose of total and local (testicules) gamma-irradiation and duration of post-irradiation period was revealed. It was shown that radiation practically does not affect number of Sertoli cells in seminiferous tubules, but in doses 1-2 Gy leads to death of differentiating A-spermatogonia and their number diminution by 60-80% in comparison with control. Due to higher radioresistance of spermatocytes, spermatids and sperms their radiation-induced damage appeared in doses 4 and 7 Gy. Doses 1 Gy and 2 Gy had practically no effect on sperm production quantity, leading only to morphologic anomalies in spermatozoa structure appearance. Doses 4 Gy and 7 Gy led to significant spermatogenesis suppression in association with suppression of viable spermatozoa production. Spermatogenesis suppression was reflected by down-regulation of synthesis of testosterone, inhibin B, anti-Muller hormone and, in contrast, with up-regulation of FSH, LH and estradiol in animal blood plasma.
