The conceptual generalization of the historical development of Ukrainian population in the ethnic and cultural processes of the world from ancient times to the present and its forecasting. The purpose of research. To synthesize the knowledge about ethno-cultural development of the Ukrainian population in the past and today, to develop the concept of participation of Ukrainian population in the ethnic and cultural processes in the world and its forecasting for the next 20 years. The methods and approaches. The cognition of the role, location and involvement of Ukraine and Ukrainians in the world ethnic and cultural processes is based on an integrated approach, scientific, historical and other methods, necessity of using of which is determined for each specific task. The basic methodological position is complex, interdisciplinary, systematic approach for studying of ethnic and cultural past and present of Ukrainian population, as well as anticipating of the possible ethnocultural reality. The novelty of the work. The results of investigation are developing available today scientific knowledge and correspond to the current level of understanding and solving the problems in a number of important topics. The conceptual generalization and knowledge on many issues, obtained for the first time, are beyond of the results obtained previously on this subject. For example, the handbook "Knowledge of ethno-cultural development of the Ukrainian population in web-encyclopedia" Wikipedia": the formation and propagation" is the first edition of a book that covers Ukrainian ethnocultural subject in Wikipedia and is innovative by the method of its creating. Theoretical and practical results. Among the main results of the research is systematizing the basic concepts of Ukrainian ethnogenesis and ethnic history of Ukrainian people. The results of research are published in 38 publications in scientific periodicals and other publications and 42 reports in 16 conferences and other scientific events. The practical value. The obtained results may be used by historians and specialists in Ukrainian studies for historical generalizations, as well as by anthropologists, linguists, political scientists, sociologists, philosophers for various professional studies, by the highest state authorities for management decisions. The efficiency of the implementation and the areas of application: education, science, culture, media, public administration.
