The gas exerts uniform pressure on the gap surfaces and offers additional thermal resistance dependent on a gap height. The ideal gas, state of which is described by the Clapeyron-Mendeleev equation, is selected for the physical model of the gas. The effect of the gas pressure, the mechanical and thermal load on gap deforming and thermal contact resistance of the structure under investigation is taken into account. Using the method of successive approximations, an analytical-numerical approach has been developed for solving a system of nonlinear singular integro-differential equations of the considered contact problem. To find a gas pressure, the equation of its state, in which the dependence of a gas temperature on temperatures of the gap surfaces is taken into account, is used. The calculations are carried out for the pair of materials stainless steel AISI 304 - aluminium alloy A380 in the presence of air, argon, krypton or helium in the gap. The influence of the gas mass, the heat flow density and the external pressure intensity on the gap width, the gas temperature, the thermal contact resistance and the level of thermal rectification is analyzed.
