101 patients with "silent" brain infarction (SI). Objective: to study the structural and functional changes in the brain in patients with SI, the allocation of their risk factors, prognosis criteria, as well as the development of therapeutic and preventive measures aimed at preventing the development of symptomatic cerebral stroke and dementia in these patients. Methods: clinical, psychodiagnostical, electrophysiological, biochemical, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), statistical. Dynamic clinical and neurological examination of the patients with SI showed that extrapyramidal, pyramidal, cerebellar, pseudobulbar syndromes violation of the act of walking and cognitive impairments of varying severity remains the major clinical syndromes. Comparison analysis of clinical data with imaging has showed that the progression of neurological syndromes and the development of new ones directly depends on the volume of periventricular white matter lesions and new SI. Studies have shown that the degree of progression depends on patient age, the presence of several factors of cardiovascular risk, and patient compliance with treatment and prevention recommendations.
