Objective: to study the structural and functional changes in the brain in patients with SI, the allocation of their risk factors, prognosis criteria, as well as the development of therapeutic and preventive measures aimed at preventing the development of symptomatic cerebral stroke and dementia in these patients. Comparison analysis of clinical data with imaging has showed that the progression of neurological syndromes and the development of new ones directly depends on the volume of periventricular white matter lesions and new SI.
