Objectives: to study risk factors, pathogenetic mechanisms, clinical features, course, structural changes in brain, state of cerebral hemodynamics, biochemical factors in dynamics in dementia of different genesis. Methods: clinical, ultrasound, biochemical methods of imaging, statistics. There were studied risk factors for diabetes, dementia in AD, PD and epilepsy. There were determined the major clinical and pathogenetic mechanisms of these dementia, the criteria for their diagnosis were updated, there were developed differential-diagnostic criteria for dementia of different genesis.
