Objective: to create a conceptual model of compliance based on the study of psychological, clinical and socio-demographic factors, conditions and patterns of its formation. It was disclosed the content of the phenomenon of compliance in patients. It was defined its place and role in the modern medical process; it was carried out its typology. The basic groups of clinical and socio-demographic and psychological factors and conditions that were relevant for the establishment of compliance of patients were revealed. There were identified the mechanisms, stages and patterns of its formation and functioning. A set of new diagnostics instruments, designed to assess various characteristics of compliance of patients was created. It was developed and tested the system of psycho-educational and psychocorrective interventions for patients with neurological and psychiatric disorders, aimed at the optimizing of their compliance. It was created a structural and functional model of compliance of patients, which contains seven main parts: motivational block; block of the expected results model; block of decision-making; block of action programme; the operational unit; the control unit; block of objective and subjective conditions and factors of the therapeutic process.
