As a result of scientific research work reproducible methods of biological synthesis of semiconductor CdS nanoparticles using plant matrices have been developed. In particular we used hairy root culture of Linaria maroccana L and cell suspension culture of Nicotiana tabacum (cv. BY-2). Spectrophotometric analysis confirmed the presence of typical for CdS quantum dots luminescence spectra. The nanoparticles size distribution, that was obtained based on the results of electron microscopy, showed that in the synthesized samples predominantly was nanoparticles fraction with a diameter 5,5 - 7,0 (by using L. maroccana) and 3,0 - 4,0 нм (by using BY-2 cell suspension culture). In addition, during the 2014 - 2015 we performed the biological activity study of the synthesized CdS quantum dots on animal cells and plant objects.
