Stage 3: Determination of kinematic parameters in the model of the Galaxy Ogoodnikov-Milne and determining the angular velocity of rotation by means of the proper motions of stars. popup.stage_title Head Fedorov P. N., Registration Date 04-02-2016 Organization Institute of Radio Astronomy of Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 Abstract. The report on the research: 25 pages, 4 figures, 1 table, 24 sources. The subject of research: stars, galaxies, extragalactic objects. The goal of this work is deriving kinematic parameters of the Galaxy in particular the angular rotation velocity based on proper motions of stars from the new high-density catalogue XPM2, covering the whole sky. The methods of investigation are processing of observational data, generalizing and comparative analysis of data, using the mathematical apparatus of the least square method, filtration of data and the theory of chances and mathematical statistics. The results are present in 5 publications (2 abstracts and 3 articles) as well as on 3 oral reports and at 2 conferences. During the reporting period the following results were received: 1. The database containing a few dozens catalogues and surveys including astrometric and astrophysical parameters, as well as the required initial information was created on the basis of PostgreSQL. The overall volume of this database is more than 3 TB. 2. The program named ogm_solve was created to solve the system of linear equations by the least square method (in particular - Ogorodnikov-Milne equations and so on). This program allows processing a large amount of data. 3. Based on the linear Ogorodnikov-Milne model the kinematic analysis of proper motions of stars of the XPM2, PPMXL and UCAC4 catalogues was carried out. It was shown that kinematic parameters of the Galaxy are in agreement with values adopted by IAU in the bright range of magnitudes. 4. The research carried out proved the opportunity for kinematic analysis to use not only proper motions of bright stars which are relatively close to the Sun but ones, located relatively far. As a result of the work done the kinematic parameters of the Galaxy from data of 3 high-density catalogues were received. The results are in good agreement with other studies in the bright range of magnitudes. As for faint magnitudes our results virtually were received for the first time, so there is nothing to compare. The comparison of kinematic parameters according to 3 catalogues points out to the good quality of proper motions of the XPM2 catalogue especially in its faint range of magnitudes. The results of the research are partially published, partially prepared for publication and partially at the analysis stage. They can be made available to all interested organizations and specialists in astrometry, celestial mechanics and stellar astronomy both in Ukraine and abroad.
