Found two genetic clusters of rabies virus in Ukraine, who belong to the first genotype of lissavirus and differ among themselves by 2-3%. Established that all vaccine strains of rabies virus (SAD 19, SAD 5/88 and SAD Bern) are groups of PV but test specimens belonging to other cluster. With ArcGIS 10.0 program was modeled geographic distribution of rabies virus genetic clusters for N- and G-genes on Ukraine map. We revealed a cluster circulation in Khmelnytsky region corresponding to map the prevalence of rabies in Ukraine. Established that the protection of "rabies immunoglobulin" and four commercial rabies vaccines less effective (in 1,5-3,5 times) against the street rabies virus isolates belonging to the genetic clusters B, in comparison with isolates belonging to the genetic cluster A. This is one of reasons of high rabies prevalence in territory of regions where established genetic cluster B circulation. Designed serological method of evaluation potency immunogenic inactivated rabies vaccine, which is patented in Ukraine. Developed three scientific and methodological developments and monograph which approved by the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine.
