Population characteristics of native species - mallard duck and gray-lag goose - under the semi-free keeping, and causes of population reduction at the region of the reserve "Askania Nova" were analyzed; the bird groups of different population origins were defined. The peculiarities of micropopulation processes of isolated populations of snow and bar-headed geese were identified. The behavior peculiarities of some representatives of family Bovidae (Nilgai, Gayal, Amеrican bison, Cape buffalo, Blue wildebeest); duration and frequency of the main types of activities were identified. The features of eating behavior, budget time of Grevy's zebra during the keeping in captivity were determined. The peculiarities of Markhur's renovation, exterior, interior, craniology, reproduction behavior of saiga under semi-free keeping were established. The method of hand-rearing of young saigas was improved. Seasonal dynamics of helminthosis, helminthofauna composition, parasitological status of representatives of families Caprinae (markhur, barbary sheep, European moufflon), Cervidae (fallow deer, sika deer, red deer and Pere David's deer) and Camelidae (guanaco, lama, alpaca, Bactrian camel) during adaptation to the south conditions of Ukraine were determined; the recommendations on animal health improvement are given. The ecology-morphological characteristics of Przewalski's horses were researched; database of the most significant features of a phenotype of horse population of the Zoo "Askania-Nova" was described and a picture catalogue of bloodstock animals was prepared. The monitoring of Przewalski's Horse free population within the zone of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station was implemented; a modern structure of population and territorial distribution of herds was established; the quantity dynamics was analyzed. The morphological and ecological characteristics of the Turkmenian kulan in Askania-Nova and results of species introduction to the Byriuchyi Island were researched. The Monograph "White goose in Askania Nova", three methodical recommendations, actions on health improvement of Camelidae at the Zoo "Askania-Nova" were prepared.
